Cake Walk

For my latest Design Team kit at Scrapville, I used October Afternoon's new Cake Walk line to make 5 cards. I love how the black card bases make these retro style patterns/colors really pop! For the "Happy" banner card, I used a craft knife to cut out the sides and bottoms of the pennants and popped them up with pop dots for a fun look. I used Crystal Effects to decorate the banner patterns and Happy letters.

Paris

I am super in love with the trendy Paris themes right now. Here I used Impress Rubber Stamps "Eiffel Tower" and "Merci" stamps, Cavallini Decorative paper tape "Paris" and "Paris" Caballini Rubber stamps. For the background I used Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card Script and Cover-a-Card Passport. The framed red ovals and black/gold circle stickers are from Jolee's French General line. I've never been to Paris, but I'm in love with it! Super fun to play with...

Under the Sea

My June design team kit from ScrapVille was to use the new Little Yellow Bicycle's "Splash" line to make cards. I love this company's designs!

See the YouTube video here!

This first card I made my own lifesaver ring, was really easy with a little glossy red paper from one of the LYB die cuts and some bakers twine. I made the orange fish out of extra ribbon.

This next card is a gatefold. I love that green ribbon under the seahorse- reminds me of seaweed!

Love using the LYB die cut as a card insert, looks like an under the sea window!

This card is much better in person (or see the YouTube video). These are transparent fish from the LYB line taped on a side step card. So flippin' adorable! Love this idea.

Of course my first thought when I saw the papers was how adorable my DeNami stamps would be with these... for this first card I used the C85 Sailboat Chickie stamp along with the PF39 Under the Sea stamp set and PF41 Sea Friends stamp set. I used C83 Wavy Dots as water and finished with the D132 You're A Treasure sentiment. I used the Citrone glitter on the chickie and Crystal Lacquer on the fish to give that sea-shine to them.

For this card I used DeNami's CL-D144 Fishing Chickie (Cling). I just love this stamp! I used the Citrone glitter on the chickies and Crystal Lacquer on the fish to give that slippery sea look.

KitVille!

I decided to join ScrapVille's first monthly Kit Club, called KitVille. The monthly challenge is to make anything you want using the supplies in the kit + 2 additional items from ScrapVille (which is really easy to manage- stickers, adhesive, papers, ribbons, distress ink/stains, stickles, etc).  This first kit challenge included 2 6x6 Core'dinations papers, twine and 3 white flowers. Here is what I made from the kit:

This was a super fun project and I adore this Basic Grey "What's Up" paper, which matched my kit paper and twines perfectly! I used distressed stains to color my flowers and added stickles and a pearl to each. I used Technique Tuesday clear stamps created by Ali Edwards (adore her stamps) for 2 of my cards and a neighborhood stamp from Stampin Up for the 3rd card.

You can see the YouTube video of all the KitVille May creations here.

4th of July Cards

With my left over scraps of paper not used in the minibook & cards in my post below, I made DeNami 4th of July cards- you know I adore their chickies! For the first BBQ card, I used D103 BBQ Chickie. For the celebrate card, I used D138 Patriotic Chickie, A95 Mini Star (love this- great for everything). For the 3rd fireworks card I used F95 Sparklers (love the added rhinestones to add that extra sparkle) and J133 Decorative Flourish (also really adore this stamp- great for all sorts of cards). I put DeNami's Citrone glitter around all the chickies using my quickie glue pen (miracle glue pen- makes glitter perfectly neat).

4th of July DAD Book & Cards

My project for ScrapVille's Design Team this past month was to make a 4th of July DAD chipboard book. I made this for my friend and his almost 2 year old son with picture from their first two years together. I printed text on some of the photos using text boxes in Microsoft Word. I stained the edges using Tim Holtz distress stains.
